Congress and voting
I think that congress should vote for what would best benefit their district because those are the people that they are representing even if the congressmen does not feel the same about the issue. Also they should vote for the things as their district wants because they were elected based on how closely their values were to the people of their district.

I agree. I'm a big fan of the popular sovereignty concept. The congressman is making the decision for himself, he is making it for his district. Chances are most the decisions won't affect his life personally. But if the Congressman is elected based on his beliefs by the people then there shouldn't be too much conflict.
ReplyDeleteYes this is true but if you were a senator and one part of the state whats one thing, and the other part wants the total opposite, then what do you do?
