Spending bill

People are complaining about the deficit that we are in because of thing like this where we are spending 1.1 trillion dollars to increase the budget for federal programs. While a lot of these programs need the money I believe the government need to weight the pros and cons of each program and decide which ones need the money the most in oreder to cut back on spending.

I feel that in most cases the procedure that the cops have to go through actually holds them back because of the time it takes to get warrents. So i think that this should be modified so that the cops can get warrents quicker if the situation permits it otherwise the set that we have now works.

I think that while the supreme court is suppose to be unaffected by politics it is ok that they have different backgrounds on the court to provide the best decision possible because each judge would be able to bring in a different view point on the decision being made.

The question of war prisoners has risen and I think that they should not be tried in a court or given rights when they are not citizens of that country. If anything they deserve a fair trial but one that is modified for their situation due to the facts that most juries would rule againt them no matter what.

I believe that Obama is doing the right thing by increasing the troops in Afghanistan because not only do the troops already there need help but the people there also want the US there to help maintain control. Also he is doing the right thing because the he is listening to his commanders that are there so this shows that he trust our troops in doing what is required to get the job done.

Just recently an american girl was convicted of murder in Italy and found guilty, yet an american lawyer says that the media followed this story so closely the the girl did not have a fair ruling by the jury. I was wondering if she would be able to appeal the case to the supreme court even thought the event happened in Italy

Congress and voting

I think that congress should vote for what would best benefit their district because those are the people that they are representing even if the congressmen does not feel the same about the issue. Also they should vote for the things as their district wants because they were elected based on how closely their values were to the people of their district.

congress districs

I believe that congressmen should live in the district that they represent if it is possible, but if it not possible for them to do that they should live close to their district so that they can still get an idea for what the people of their district want. otherwise the congressmen will lose connection with the needs of their district and could end up casting their vote for something that their district does not approve of.

Iran Talks

I believe that what we are trying to do with Iran is good in making sure that they do not create nuclear bombs but the fact that we are not offering a compromise is bad. For example if they are using the facilities for energy and we do not want them to then we should offer to help them build or finance a form of alternate energy such as solar energy to make up for the potential energy that they would have lost.

auto industry bailout

While this is a rather old subject some new things have occurred such as the plan to sell saturn failed forcing GM to also cut this brand in order to stay afloat. but the issue with this is that the only reason GM got in the situation it is in is because it did not pay attention to what was selling and what was not and continued to produce cars that did not have the same appeal that they use to due to either rising gas prices or reliability. So because of their ignorance to make a shift in product they turned to the government to bail them out of a situation they caused. while this bailout may have saved some peoples jobs it did not save as many as people think because most american brands are made in other places than america then brought over to avoid america's high safety standards. so I believe that the government should have not bailed out those auto makers because of their ignorance and should have saved or spent the money somewhere where t was needed more.

government secrecy

I believe that the government should stay rather secret about a majority of topics such as plans for foreign affairs or what they are going to do with troops. I believe this because if we publish this information anyone has access to it and this can jeopardize the safety of americans. But I also believe that the people should be aware of these issues but the issues should be kept general with no detail or shared expectations.

i believe that we would be better with a parliamentary style government because while the two party system is good it does not focus on certain issues that other smaller parties do. And if we were able to incorporate these smaller parties in it would bring about more change/ideas and it may make it easier for congress to come to agreements because then they would have to take every idea into account instead of ignoring it just because it was put forth from an opposing party.

I cose the first question and Ibelieve that americans should not get free healthcare because our goverment can not afford to do that at this time, but i do believe that universal healthcare like how it it set up in europe could be very successful even though it would involve a tax raise. I believe this would be successful because then everyone is covered and then people would not have to worry about riseing insurence and it would solve the goverments issue of trying to make it so that everyone can afford healthcare.
